Aligning Education and Training with Industry

A community college seeks to develop a training model focused on employer-identified base manufacturing skills

  • Approach: Our team is conducting a landscape analysis and needs assessment to develop a plan to design a program that meets the base manufacturing training needs of employers in the region and aligns with the college’s capabilities.

  • Planned Final Products: Landscape analysis, design team formation, and program design framework

A new statewide industry intermediary aims to foster the growth of the life sciences industry by engaging with key workforce leaders

  • Approach: Our team conducted secondary research on promising workforce models in the life sciences industry and held interviews with workforce leaders and trainers across the state of Rhode Island to inform the development of a Convening agenda, facilitation plan, and summary report. We facilitated the first workforce convening of the Rhode Island Life Science Hub.

  • Final Products: Convening with key workforce stakeholders in Rhode Island, prepared final report summarizing key findings from the convening along with actionable next steps.

An ed tech company seeks skills-based training design for Fortune 100 employer

  • Approach: Our team established a partnership between Unmudl and Amazon to offer training to help Amazon fill over 1,000 maintenance technician positions. We facilitated collaborative efforts across Amazon, partner community colleges, and Unmudl stakeholders to design, develop and implement a customized training program.

  • Final Product(s): Course design, course launch, and an operational playbook to inform future course design efforts.
